SONY HONDA MOBILITY

PRODUCT DESIGN

I worked with the dotdotdash team to design a new microsite experience for AFEELA, Sony Honda Mobility’s electric vehicle brand. We created a flexible digital system for exploring everything from design and entertainment to safety, comfort, software, and ownership.

Making a complex product simple to exploreew

There isn’t one linear story behind AFEELA.

A visitor might be interested in the exterior design, cabin entertainment, sensing and safety, comfort, connected services, or the ways the vehicle can evolve through software and co-creation.

Rather than treating each of those as a separate experience, we looked for a consistent structure that could bring them together while still giving each story enough room to feel distinct.

A system for discovery

A repeatable card-based interaction became a core part of the experience.

At the page level, cards make a large amount of information easy to scan and invite exploration without immediately asking visitors to commit to long-form content.

Selecting a story opens a richer detail experience, allowing imagery, video, features, and supporting information to expand without losing the context of the larger page.Using the same interaction model across different parts of the vehicle created consistency while allowing the content itself to change dramatically.

Balancing emotion and information

The visual system needed to do two very different things well.

Large-scale imagery and motion create the more emotional moments of the experience, giving the vehicle space to feel cinematic and aspirational.

More structured layouts handle detailed product information with clear hierarchy, restrained typography, and generous space.Moving between those modes allowed the experience to feel expressive without sacrificing usability or making technical content feel dense.
